techee left a comment (geany/geany-plugins#1466) The slow-down is caused by libcairo - when I copy it over from an older Geany installer, the problem disappears. The interesting thing is that the date of the library is 6.6.2025 and we started experiencing the problem afterwards. But when compared to the version from an older installer (also saying 6.6.2025), the binaries differ. So it looks the library has been rebuilt.
