giuspen left a comment (geany/geany#4364) I have been testing the cross compilation in the past but more recently I have been always testing the native one. I am outside home with the kids for the afternoon and will be back late afternoon to test the build(s). The native certainly has the message with versions including git hash. In fact one concern about the native build is that I am not removing the .git folded there, were you saying the Autotools were not building for release but debug in that case? If that is the case better use cross compiling workflow or just add missing "rm -rf .git".
