The Send Selection to... feature is very useful and flexible. Anything that can be done by a script and be used via this menu. However, it's not strictly limited to formatting functions only. For example a script could be written to prepend / append text to each line, perform sorts, etc.
My suggestion is twofold: - Move the "Send Selection to..." item up to the Edit (or Document?) menu for easier access - Assign a shortcut key to the menu itself, not only the first three items.
