@Skif-off The answer to your question is simple.... I secretly have access to your phone :) Obviously kidding but you are right that is really strange timing :) You mentioned that you remembered about bookmarks again, same thing, I know of them, I know there are keyboard shortcuts, I know they could be useful, yet for I have not been using them that much. I think the reason is what I am mentioning in this post, because they do not save with your files, they seem a little too temporary to make serious use of. If there was a good way to retain them, they would probably be used more. Also they might be even more useful to you (and other users) as well, being that you work on scripts? ---------------------------------------------------------------- ADDONS PLUGIN - BOOKMARKS SIDEBAR I mentioned this in a lot of my suggestion posts / you probably already know this but the `Addons` plugin has a `Bookmarks` sidebar that shows list of all the bookmarks in document, which is a nice visual if you have a document where you have added a good amount of bookmarks to a document so they can be seen in a list form. ---------------------------------------------------------------- EVENTS FOLDER QUESTION I did not know about the "events" folder. Wow, I will say it again this GeanyLua plugin is very well done, so many features. Not sure I follow how these files `saved.lua` & `opened.lua` function. Do you basically add paths to Lua scripts in them and then right before a file is saved or right after a file is opened, those path/Lua script items get automatically applied? For me personally I probably would not use this approach because I probably would not be using Bookmarks all the time in every single open/save of files. ---------------------------------------------------------------- TEXT FILE APPROACH You mentioned that a regular text file might be able to be used? If this is true/possible, I think it might be better to go with this approach, if you agree/are still interested. This way user can assign hotkey to each script to manually perform bookmark related actions. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Because this post was more of a question post about approaches for Bookmarks, marked words and caret location, and that this ended being more specifically about Bookmarks, I am going to close this and create a new post just to hopefully limit confusion.
