Any news on this? I'm very interested in geometry columns in Arrow. Similar
to geopandas.

In geopandas, C-pointers to GEOS geometry are stored in the "geometry
column" as long integers wrapped in shapely objects.
The most compact way of persisting/serializing geometry in GEOS, is as WKB
(Well-Known Binary).
