It was so that I could have some reference points when adding to the benchmarks, to compare using `key_hash.h` and `hashing.h`. I wanted to see what the overheads of the compute API were for each, as well as how fast they were without that overhead. This ends up becoming a starting point for [ARROW-16017](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-16017), but I don't consider it complete since I have few cases covered and I didn't include any statistical comparisons -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
