Flight SQL doesn't currently support that kind of information. Progress information would be interesting to have. I'm not sure we'd want to expose full server logs per se, but adding a side channel for 'warning' style messages (like what JDBC/ODBC have) might be interesting, though I wonder how you'd manage clearing those messages. Also related is clearer semantics around retrying requests, since things may fail (e.g. due to transient network conditions) in such long running requests.
