I was having a hard time getting reviews on my Gandiva PR, plus I had changed jobs and wasn't planning on using Gandiva anymore. There aren't very many active Gandiva maintainers (most activity I've seen if a few people adding functions) and almost none of them are familiar with PyArrow, so it was difficult to get reviews and merged. After a while, I was reticent to document a submodule that doesn't have people committed to maintain it. So I closed it. If the situation changes and there's more maintainers on Gandiva and the PyArrow bindings specifically, we should definitely reopen this. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
