You have to use the same root you called startPut with. You can't create a new root in the same variable name and expect it to link up. (How do you expect those objects to be linked?) Look at VectorLoader and VectorUnloader to transfer data between roots. @davisusanibar @lwhite1 this is a basic Java Arrow concept, but I don't see it clearly referenced in the cookbook, nor do I see it obviously referenced in the Java docs, so it's worth clarifying -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
