@kiszk I just quickly skimmed the `UnsafeDirectLittleEndian` class and it looks like there are some assumptions that the order is LE, is that correct? If so we should probably leave these checks in place, make another class for native endian, e.g. `UnsafeDirectNaiveEndian`, and perhaps deprecate `UnsafeDirectLittleEndian`?
