@alamb thanks for analysis, just to be sure, can it be also an issue for DF17 and FairMemoryPool. If FairMemoryPool doesn't respect mem limit and there is enough mem to complete the sorting, then the test will be ok, although it is the issue with memory manager -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
