It's too late for 12.0.0. :< 12.0.0 is in the "feature freeze" phase: https://arrow.apache.org/docs/dev/developers/release.html#creating-a-release-candidate > We have implemented a Feature Freeze policy between Release Candidates. This means that, in general, we should only add bug fixes between Release Candidates.
