@pitrou This is a small change but in a highly used/performance sensitive part of the headers! CRAN has requested that we submit this fix (or some other fix resulting in no compilation warnings with `-Wconversion -Wno-sign-conversion` in public headers included in the R package). @raulcd / @assignUser This PR would fix the current CRAN issue from the Arrow C++ side.
