I suspect this is down to how the avro file was generated. See this [helpful stackoverflow answer](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/36022358/kafka-avro-consumer-with-decoder-issues) for a description of the two ways that avro data can be serialized (generalization but: a) for archival on disk with schema in the header and b) for transmission through -- typically -- kafka). @ellisandrews-toast I suspect you used `DataFileWriter` to produce the file? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
