The last update here was that I would explore an alternative option of handling this entirely through substrait instead of adding it to the Flight SQL spec. I still think that would be an interesting idea and I started to address some blockers on the substrait side to make that happen, but haven't been able to allocate enough bandwidth recently to see it through. If people can start getting value from this right away then I'll gladly clean up the PR so that it can merge. @lidavidm is right, we'll need a vote because the last one got cancelled. I do still want to explore the substrait side, but perhaps if we keep this spec experimental we can eventually evaluate both in parallel and get a better understanding of the tradeoffs involved. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
