Ok, it's not obvious if this actually changed anything in the benchmarking setup, because the benchmark numbers don't seem to show any relevant change in performance numbers (it could also be that memory allocation is not really sensitive in our benchmarks). cc @austin3dickey FYI -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
