For what it’s worth I think having the ability to performantly parse JSON stored as a String or Binary is valuable in and of itself. You don’t always control how the data gets stored. If it can be made a lot more performant or a lot more compact to store then a binary format would also make sense for the cases you do control the storage. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
