   Even if `ArrayBuffer.prototype.transfer()` was available everywhere, to get 
any performance benefit we'd need to know the ArrayBuffer's eventual size, 
which we don't because we're writing a stream of values. If we did know the 
eventual size, I'd have just preallocated the entire thing up front 
:slightly_smiling_face:.
