This is just a curiosity, but what is the reason for interoperability with data.table? If you need a parquet reader to be used in conjunction with data.table, is there any chance that nanoparquet would make more sense? Or, if conversion to and from Arrow data is required, it may be more reasonable to go via the nanoarrow package.
