   @davidhcoe - This is a copy of my original implementation.
   
   Here's the reasoning ...
   
   TryParse returns a true/false indicator for success/failure, but also it 
returns a non-null `enum` value. It is a way to ensure the returned `enum` 
value is not one of the "valid" values if the caller ignores the true/false 
indicator.
