I got an email this morning and I created #46123 to deal with it. TL;DR there's [a new M1-based sanitization check](https://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/bdr/M1-SAN/README.txt) — it's not even (yet?) on the "additional checks" The oldrel macos "failure" there is a redherring I'm pretty sure — it indicates execution was halted externally. I've seen these external halts relatively frequently since we started (being forced to) build from source on macos, but I've never gotten an email about them.
