One other benefit of adding this crate to the project other than to shift the maintenance burden, would be easier downstream integration (when we release a new major version of object_store that wouldn't require waiting for object_store_hdfs to update as well) I did hit this last time I tried to help upgrade delta.rs with a major object store release > There are a few other crates I know of now relying on this object store, and whenever there's a new object_store minor release they are also dependent on me cutting a new release of my crate for binary compatibility, and usually there are very minor API changes I just need to make. @Kimahriman given we haven't really done any breaking releases for a while, have you had to do this recently?
