I've been trying to slowly shift things to use generics throughout this library as I've had the time to do so. So I'm all in favor of doing this! Please go for it and I'll review it as soon as I can, the performance benefit there is fantastic and very much in line with what I'd expect (and why I've been wanting to do more conversions to generics all over this library).
