Which allocator implementation are you using? I don't think we can make any guarantees about RSS; that's up to the JVM (IIRC, Unsafe boils down to malloc, I don't remember what Netty does but I assume the same). I see some OpenJDK versions will malloc_trim on GC; which JDK are you using? There's an additional complicating factor; you're using JNI Arrow libraries so there's Arrow's allocator to account for as well. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
