Thanks for raising this issue, I'd like to give this optimization a shot, if you don't mind :) I have a question up front: shall we keep the user-facing API the same, e.g. should `selection`-related getters and setters of `ReadPlanBuilder` still operate with `Option<RowSelection` or shall we change the type completely?
