- Use ROLLBACK and not ROLLBACK AND CHAIN, which unexpectedly preserves
transaction properties
- Lazily start transactions instead of eagerly
- For pooled connections, this is better behavior
- We do make slightly more server round-trips

- [ ] Ensure transactions still behave as expected
