Sorry to bother you @emkornfield, but would you have time to review the
changes here under src/parquet/reader.{cc,h}, since it refactors the footer
parsing? Otherwise, I'll ask Antoine to take a look when he's back from leave.
(I know there's a lot of other stuff in this PR, which Weston has looked
through already.)
