I would like to take this. I found no related PR, and the `record.rs` commits since this report only cover empty-record and one-datum decoding, not `UnionDecoder` batch counters. I will first add a focused multi-batch union regression test, verify it fails on current `main`, then reset the per-branch counts only after a successful flush. I will run the focused test, the arrow-avro suite, rustfmt, and Clippy.
