@tcsavage suggests that it only triggers with STS web identity credentials, not with access keys or SSO. Could someone try plain Linux docker (not macOS, the event loop backend differs, and outside K8s) with `AWS_WEB_IDENTITY_TOKEN_FILE`, `AWS_ROLE_ARN` and `AWS_REGION` set, pointing at a token file, and see whether it hangs?
