yeah fair. only reason it was in there is it is the one way to show the
thing actually bites, you get an empty value back instead of 4 gb. it is
ignored so ci never touches it, but carrying an 8gb test in the tree is still
odd, my bad. dropped it in 07d34fd, repro stays in #11317 for anyone who wants
to run it once.
