@sdf-jkl this adds the per-column encodings you asked for in #10643, if you’d like to try it. @alamb could you take a look when there’s time? It adds a repeatable --column-encoding <COLUMN>=<ENCODING> option to parquet-rewrite. Encodings are checked against each column’s physical type before anything is written, so a bad combination fails with a clap error instead of panicking halfway through.
