@amoeba I'm going through old `Type: bug` issues. You traced this to the pinned `grpc-cpp` 1.50.1 dragging in an old `libprotobuf` and letting Homebrew's protobuf leak into the conda build; #47606 (merged 2025-10-06) replaced `grpc-cpp` with unpinned `libgrpc` in `ci/conda_env_cpp.txt`, so a fresh environment now resolves current `libgrpc` and `libprotobuf`.
