Since this was filed Arrow gained a native `AzureFileSystem`, and
`pyarrow.fs.FileSystem.from_uri("abfs://[email protected]/...")`
routes to it directly, so ADLS Gen2 can be read from pyarrow without going
through libhdfs. The libhdfs path described here is still broken: the
`HadoopFileSystem` constructor prepends `hdfs://` to any host that is not
`hdfs://` or `viewfs://`, and `HdfsOptions::FromUri` drops the container name
before the `@`. Given the native filesystem covers the use case I am closing
this. If anyone specifically needs the libhdfs plus hadoop-azure route, for
example for Hadoop-managed credentials, please open a new issue describing that
case.
