Thanks @Jefffrey! Opened #11907. The decode path itself is unchanged and the rollback only runs when a record is incomplete, so the decoder benchmarks are within noise of main. Code-wise it's a `truncate` per decoder (one line per variant, like `append_nulls`) plus treating a truncated varint as EOF.
