- #51613 split out into its own PR; this branch is rebased on it and its base is set to that branch, so the diff here is only the cast work. - Zero-copy: for contiguous views (each starting where the previous ended) the values child is sliced instead of gathered, so values() shares the input buffer, and values only null views reference are dropped by narrowing the slice. Offsets are still rebuilt (rebased, nulls zeroed); out-of-order/overlapping views still gather — a list's values must be in view order and contiguous. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
