It is but currently only one level of nesting. This is a known bug: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-13151?filter=-1 I am working on fix, I don't know if it will make it it into the 6.0 release. Sorry I should clarify, I'm not sure if selecting a struct field (a.b) will work today. You might want to try just passing that and if it fails open up a JIRA.
