   Generally speaking, iterators, readers, etc. (anything that is keeping some 
kind of internal pointer to a position in some source stream) is not going to 
be thread safe in Arrow-C++ unless it specifically says otherwise (and I can't 
think of any that do).  That being said, access from multiple threads is 
probably ok as long as you protect the access with a mutex.
