Review comment:
A couple of lines up you create an mpsc buffer with a capacity of two.
You then loop through producing to it. Send will wait for capacity and as the
consumer hasn't been started yet it will wait indefinitely if it has already
pushed two batches.
The fix should be simple, spawn the consumer first 😀
