[PR] add a way for channels to be closed manually [beam]

   Manually close channels to avoid 
   ```

       Make sure to call shutdown()/shutdownNow() and wait until 
awaitTermination() returns true."

   Per Grpc documentation channels should reused when possible and manually 
closed if they are no longer being used.
