As for what to do next... @phoerious if you are interested and have access to a GCP project, you could continue investigate what happens in https://github.com/apache/beam/pull/16658#issuecomment-1093407575. Another avenue, is to exclude the DataflowRunner from the new behavior. I think we should be able to cleanly detect the runner by analyzing pipeline options in https://github.com/apache/beam/blob/2d27f44f58112ca4a5689614a94592de4e28d476/sdks/python/container/boot.go#L138 -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
