Checking the DataFusion 54 upgrade guide, it seems like this is expected: https://github.com/apache/datafusion/blob/50aa138564580ff7abaaf3d689fab831d0dd2ce2/docs/source/library-user-guide/upgrading/54.0.0.md#L95-L95 And looking closer at the PR comments from https://github.com/apache/datafusion/pull/20426, it seems like this is intentional.
