I reviewed #17071 and the existing discussion. The phased approach of starting with `main` and the latest released version (`55.0.0`), then backfilling older releases after the publishing contract is established, makes sense to me. I will first study the current DataFusion documentation pipeline and the Apache Arrow and DataFusion Comet implementations referenced in the issue. Then I will post a concise implementation proposal in #17071 covering the versioned output layout, version picker, publishing workflow and release-process integration before opening a larger PR.
