## Which issue does this PR close? Refs #6402. Backport of pending upstream #6451 (4935e8d); upstream has not merged. ## Rationale for this change Use Spark for incompatible regr_* results in RC2 until the full #6076 correction lands. ## What changes are included in this PR? Port the fallback, compatibility documentation and SQL fixtures. Resolve the documentation conflict using the upstream regression-function rows. This is the conservative fallback only; it does not include #6076. If the full fix is selected for branch-1.1 before this lands, reassess this draft rather than merging contradictory approaches. ## How are these changes tested? Fresh native build passed. JDK 17/default Spark 4.1: both CometSqlFileTestSuite regr fixtures passed.
