## Which issue does this PR close? Closes #6333. Backport of #6348 to `branch-1.1`. ## Rationale for this change `CometDays` counted timestamp days in the session timezone while `CometHours` and Iceberg count in UTC. Around timezone day boundaries, Comet therefore returned a different partition transform. The fix should be available in the 1.1 release line. ## What changes are included in this PR? Cherry-picks #6348 with `-x`. Timestamp-to-date conversion for the days transform now uses UTC and the temporal suite pins the pre-epoch boundary behavior. The branch-specific adaptation keeps the 1.1 expression import set while removing the now-unused `SQLConf` import; newer unrelated interval-expression imports from main are not brought into the backport. ## How are these changes tested? Built the native library with `cargo build`, then ran: ```text ./mvnw test -Dtest=none -Dsuites='org.apache.comet.CometTemporalExpressionSuite' -Dscalastyle.skip=true ``` Result: 1 suite completed, 35 tests passed. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
