@QinXi-ai and @kosiew: This is a great optimization! I opened #26370 to extend it to timestamps and fixed-size binary grouping keys, which we need for our workloads (I tested on real usecases and the speedups are dramatic!) I also included the other compatible temporal and decimal types to make the extension more generally useful.
