> Why isn't the simplifier being run in your usecase? It's being run, but the return type is also being computed before it runs (e.g., asking for the schema of the unoptimized logical plan). For something like `st_buffer(coalesce(geom, other_geom))`, we get an execution error "st_buffer: no kernel matching arguments" because our extension type aware version of the Signature rejects an unqualified Binary; however, I believe this would also show up as an unexpected/mismatched schema result between an optimized an unoptimized plan.
