Current status: 1. I created https://github.com/apache/datafusion/tree/branch-49 2. There is a PR to update the version and changelog here: https://github.com/apache/datafusion/pull/16822 Once that is merged, I think we can move on to the next steps: 1. We test various downstream projects using `branch-49` 2.
