As is the text editor wars so is the text based documentation style
one chooses. So I hope not to stir things too much.

I like how GitHub will render text based documentation in the README.
like a README.rst is very nicely done. I have also noticed the
advantages of Asciidoc in use where DocBook used to be for project
documentation.

So what is the possibility of having an Asciidoc renderer for README
files? That way the README file does not have to be writen in a
different style then your project documentation.

On a side note: is there much contention between reStructuredText and
Asciidoc? From first glance at the syntax I think Asciidoc looks a bit
more human readable then ReST. What is really the difference and why
have two competing standards? Which tool is best for what? Comments?
Opinions?
