For some reason I had the hardest time wording the subject of this. But the scenario is pretty simple. A friend created a repository that has gained some followers and been forked several times. He now feels he won't be able to maintain the project and wants to hand over the reigns to me.
What's the best way to make this transition? Particularly considering there are people who are watching and have forked his repo? Is there away to turn my fork into a root repo?
