I am sorry to be misunderstood again: I have been using this kind of software
without a problem.

The original question is mostly answered: I asked about comments of having
public repositories of college projects. While all the code and projects are
free software and alike (usually under a GPLv3 or CC-SA-NC) there might be
trouble with some kinds of plagiarism or peculiar department rules.

I can pay for the hosting but prefer reusing github's infrastructure to save
myself time.
